Good day to you;
It was announced this week that the operations of Hinckley Automotive (Chrysler,Jeep,Dodge,Ram, and Used Cars) including service and parts have been sold to the owner of Salt Lake Valley GMC. Hincklease was not a part of this sale.
Jim Hinckley, the current Owner, and dealer principal stated he is looking forward to spending more time with family. Jim originally acquired the store from his Father Robert H. Hinckley, Jr. He has been involved on a full time basis since 1975, and at various times has overseen all aspects of the automotive operations including the dealership in Ogden for more than 37 years. He will retain ownership of the property and facilities that the dealership operations and Hincklease currently occupy. He will also retain the ownership of Hinckley Body Shop and Race Shop. The Hinckley Automotive New and Used vehicle dealership operations are scheduled to discontinue on 28 February 2013. The new operator and dealer principal, Keyvan Kayvani will open under the name Salt Lake Valley Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram on 1 March 2013 in the same location.
I visited with the soon to be new owner, Keyvan Keyvani this week. He indicated that his current plan is to work with all of the current employees on staff. He has also indicated his desire to continue to serve and offer Hinckley Automotive’s clients from the largest fleet user to the every-day working man, the same (or better) service and kind of family atmosphere that this dealership has been famous for since 1915. Thomas Hinckley plans to stay on in the capacity of Commercial Sales and Fleet manager.
I want to reiterate to you that the dealership sale does not involve Hincklease, the Hinckley’s, Inc family owned financial services enterprise, which will continue to operate at its current location, in its full capacity with Bob Hinckley as the President/CEO, Brian Baker as the Vice President of Fleet services and all existing staff. We will continue to offer competitive funding, acquisition, disposal, of all makes and models light duty cars and trucks to hundreds of clients we currently serve. We hope to begin and maintain a significant relationship with the new dealership and it’s new owners.
Please join us during the rest of February, in wishing Jim and Lyn Hinckley a great (semi) retirement together. And of course in March, congratulating the Keyvani’s on their new Chrysler Dealership. Keyvan has assured me that he intends to continue Hinckley Automotive’s tradition as the best Chrysler dealership in Utah to do business with. He and his colleagues there are committed to earning and keeping every client’s long term loyalty and respect.
In the meantime each and every person there will be working hard, and continuing the proud traditions of what has been, and will be for a few short weeks more…the Oldest Dodge Dealership in America.
